A whopping 38% (265 out of 705) Draft Bridging Island Plan submissions by islanders related to quarry expansion. By contrast only 129 mention the hospital!

The fact that there was such a large response to expansion – especially considering the wide range of important areas covered in the plan – clearly demonstrates that the proposal is flawed, badly thought through and in danger of being unnecessarily rushed.
